Jillian Vordick was first introduced to climbing in third grade. She attended a “Friday Nite Rox” program at Earth Treks Climbing Gym in Rockville, MD. She immediately fell in love with the creative and physical challenges that climbing creates, and wanted to dive deeper into the sport. Around six months later she decided to try out for the Earth Treks Climbing Team and was placed on their "intermediate team." Jillian began competing right out of the gate, getting 4th at her first bouldering competition. She stayed on the competition team, moving up to the top level, for six years. Currently, Jillian competes in bouldering and sport season and hopes to start competing in more open comps, like Sport Climbing Open Nationals. She also makes an effort to climb outside as much as possible, making annual trips to Chattanooga, TN to climb in Stone Fort and Rocktown. She has also been to the Red River Gorge a couple of times and has fallen in love with the intricate moves, long routes, and unique style of climbing that it offers. Beyond climbing, Jillian is interested in photography and cinematography, and she brings her camera everywhere.
